Ten impressions from Round Lake
1. The Morning.
Sometimes it’s sleepy, but always glad. Sweet porridge, hot tea, cordial smiles - it’s a nice start of a new day.
2. The Day.
Sunny and hot, or cloudy and rainy, it’s always different. Something is absorbing, something is less interesting, but, anyway, it’s experience, which you can’t read from books or learn at lectures.
3. The Night that is turning into a New Day.
A guitar, songs, drums, warmth of the camp-fire, eyes’ shine, snatched with the flames out of the darkness… It seems to be very late and I already want to sleep, but don’t want to leave for tent. I feel like sitting in a boat, rocking on the waves, and only such mood is important, my feelings for ‘there and now’, but not words. They will be forgotten and vanish soon - the mood of vibrations will remain.
4. The Rain.
Unexpected, it surprised us twice. What was it for each of us? A test of cohesion for people and tents, just a caprice of nature, wet shoes and clothes, damp sleeping-bags… For me it became a real adventure. Is it so because my tent didn’t get soaked and remained dry, I wonder? ;))
5. The Bath-House.
It’s warm, noisy, funny and a smell of herbs lives there. I want it once more!
6. The Disabled.
They are different: someone is on the wheelchair, others have problems with arms or legs. But the most hopeless are those, who suppose, that an invalid is a person, that can’t do nothing in his life. M.Bulghakov, a famous Russian writer, at one time published a novel, called “The Dog’s Heart”. The main hero of it, Doctor Preobrazhenski’, said that the disruption of our minds is much worse than the disorganisation of our toilets.
7. The Healthy.
The ability to jump high or to run a hundred-metre sprint fast is not the main proof of health. When a physical healthy person giggles at an invalid, which speaks little clumsy, but at the same time he can’t explain simple things himself…Can he be really healthy? Any, even the most splendid and expensive car without a driver is only the pile oh iron, like paralysed invalid.
8. The Sky.
Every morning we look at the sky hopefully. What will it be: a sunny day or chilly, oppressive rain? The camp will finish soon, and it seems that everything is much easier in cities, in our flats with all modern conveniences. But why do we carry on gazing into the sky with trust and hope?
9. The Mood.
As psychologists advise, if you can’t change a situation, you should change your attitude to it. It’s difficult to say, weather the people in Round Lake acted in accordance with these instructions or not, but even the loathsome rain didn’t cause dejection. My warm joy reminded unclouded.
10. Return to Myself.
Some of the programme’s tasks recur from Lake to Lake. But new ideas and thoughts come again and again, as if somebody invisible tugs at the threads of our souls. Well, go ahead to the new discoveries!

My five brightest impressions of Round Lake
1. The first day, meeting completely different people, provision of the necessary facilities, trying to get along.
2. One of our everyday exercises stuck in my mind, when all the participants, sitting in a circle with shut eyes in turn numerated from 1 to 50. On one day somebody switched to English and the others did the same.
3. I was fond of our downpours. On first days we ran away and hide in a big tent, but finally we felt so comfortable that were happily walking under the waters.
4. I liked the idea of dividing all the people into 3 towns. A lot of bright moments such as the trade fair, berrying and designing our wooden houses were connected with it.
5. The night, when I was sleeping near the camp-fire. To wake up outdoor was cool!

Round Lake gave me a lot of remarkable impressions and achievements. Here they are:
1. I’m not afraid of plunging now and I’m going to learn swimming when return home.
2. For the first time of my life I slept outdoor near the camp-fire
3. I learnt to tap out a rhythm on the drums.
4. I made myself clear concerning my aims and goals for future on the ‘aim workshop’.
5. I realised that one shouldn’t be afraid to swim against the tide, even if we have another point of view.
6. I would like to have enough strength and skills to stop feeling disabled and become a volunteer.
7. I realised that we shouldn’t forget about our relatives.

Five impressions of Round Lake
I understood that we should treat the others more tactfully despite of their features of character and appearance.
We should be more active. If we don’t approve ourselves, people who want to communicate will have no information about us, so they will not know how to do it.
Also realised that money is not everything in our life. People can communicate not only for their own benefit but just for mutual pleasure.
It seems to me that even the worst weather can’t cloud the pleasure you get from work and rest in a good company.
I’m delighted with the work of our volunteers and trainers.

My conclusions of Round Lake
Healthy people should treat the disabled ones more attentively and more respectively.
A disabled person has a right to live and to work in society together with the other people.
I must always achieve my aims
Once again I realised that people with restricted abilities should feel on the same standing with the others, shouldn’t consider themselves to be the invalids and should present themselves in the right way in our society.

General impression of the Round Lake is super! Although there were some crunches, they were much less than the positive I got from it. I’m very glad to meet the majority of participants and volunteers. In fact, everything was new for me during these ten days. It was the first time for me, when I lived in a tent in the wood more than three days. It was the first time when I took part in such a camp-seminar. I liked the conditions in the camp, role – playing, debates and the other exercises which impulsed me to think over the issues that I had never thought before. I also heard the statements and opinions which, I must say, shocked me. I’m grateful for the possibility to enrich the mind with new knowledge and the soul with new emotions. It was pleasant that the opinions and wishes of the participants were not only heard but put into practice by the camp managers.
